Utilities

The Utilities menu allows you to perform some functions that don't necessarily fall under any of the other menus.

The following options are available in Utilities:

Select Different Customer
Allows users who manage multiple North Farm accounts to switch between those accounts.
Rebuild Data Files
Recreates indexes used to speed processing.
Backup Data Files
Backs up all data files to a different location on the hard drive or to some type of removable media.
Restore Data Files
Allows you to restore a backup.
Re-Reconcile Invoice
Allows you to re-reconcile the invoice file to the order.
Review Comm Log
Allows you to review your latest connection to the North Farm BBS.
Send All Files to North Farm
Used by North Farm Technical Support Staff to investigate unusual problems.
Modify Order Date
Used by North Farm Technical Support Staff to modify your order date.

Select Different Customer

Visual NF-One is designed to allow you to manage multiple North Farm accounts.  This option allows you to switch between one account and another.

When you select this option a window will open with all the North Farm accounts you manage listed.  Click on the account you wish to work with and then click on the Select button.

Rebuild Data Files

Behind Visual NF-One is a database with many tables.  These different tables use indexes to speed the processing of data.  While the instances are not frequent, these indexes can get out of synchronization or even become corrupt.  This option allows you to recreate those indexes.

Backup Data Files

Backup Data Files allows you to maintain a backup of your data in the event of a computer failure or major error in processing data.  The files are backed up to the directory that you set in Computer Configuration in the Setup menu.

Only the files specific to your account are backed up.  Files that you download from North Farm are not backed up.  You may simply download these files again should you need to.

You should back up your data before major data processing events.  It is recommended that you back up your data files before choosing Get North Farm Invoice and Close Order Cycle.

Important! If you are managing multiple accounts you should be aware that this should be done separately for each North Farm account.  Doing this process while you are in one account does not back up the files for any other accounts you are managing.
Restore Data Files

This option allows you to restore files from a previous backup.

Re-Reconcile Invoice

Please do only at the request of North Farm Technical Support.  This option re-reconciles the Invoice to the Order should that need to be done to trouble-shoot certain problems.

Review Comm Log

Each time you connect to the North Farm BBS the details of the connection are recorded in a log file.  The log contains the last connection to the BBS.  This option allows you to review that log.  This can be a useful tool for North Farm in trouble-shooting BBS connection problems.

Send All Files to North Farm

This option should only be used at the request of a member of the North Farm Technical Support Staff.

This option allows you to send a copy of all your data to North Farm.  The Technical Support Staff can then review that data in the event you are experiencing a problem.  This can be a useful tool for North Farm in trouble-shooting any problems you encounter.

Modify Order Date

This option should only be used at the request of a member of the North Farm Technical Support Staff.
